Events and Attractions

Jackson Street has the potential to become Phoenix's preeminent public gathering place and a nexus for civic celebrations. At one end, a covered public marketplace will anchor the street atop the historic Central Avenue Underpass. At the other end, a large shaded "civic plaza" at Chase Field will provide an ideal location for hosting a variety of outdoor events. Movable bollards will allow Jackson Street to be closed periodically to vehicular traffic, accommodating an active program of public events, including parades, street fairs, open-air markets, and film festivals.
